On the scale of progress, the Institute appears to be somewhere in the middle. Not forging ahead and yet not remaining belligerently stuck in the past like other campuses, it seems the Institute has stagnated.
On March 17th, Silicon Valley Bank filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Not too long after, Switzerland’s second-largest bank, Credit Suisse, followed suit. Although not utterly destitute, the bank has been facing significant financial challenges and regulatory issues.

Twenty years ago today, a combined fighting force of American, British, Australian, and Polish troops began their initial ground invasion of Iraq.

What became most apparent are the deep tensions that exist between the administration, teaching staff, and students.
2023 at the Institute could come to define this tension or this year could be an opportunity to resolve it through student action.
